Pyro Immersion Pyrometer Suits A Wide Range of Materials Portable Direct Reading Pyrometer uses Interchangeable & Reusable Thermocouples
Pyrometer Instrument Co. Inc., Northvale, NJ – The Pyro Immersion thermocouple pyrometer utilizes interchangeable and reusable K type thermocouples to suit a wide range of hot molten, non-ferrous metal temperature measurement applications, specifically brass, bronze and aluminum. The Pyro Immersion thermocouple pyrometer is lightweight (3 ½ lbs.) and incorporates a fan shaped, analog, direct reading scale that is housed in a rugged, moisture and shock resistant cast aluminum housing. Two temperature models are available, 0°F – 2500°F and 0°C - 1400°C, instrument accuracy of ± 1% of reading is traceable to NIST standards. Automatic cold junction compensation is employed to prevent errors attributed to ambient temperature. The instrument can be provided with either 27" or 43" extension arms that contain a saw tooth knuckle. This saw tooth knuckle allows the operator to adjust the angle of the thermocouple into a safe, comfortable position prior to inserting the thermocouple tip into the hot molten metal. Three different K type thermocouple tips are available for the Pyro Immersion thermocouple pyrometer. These include 18" and 24" closed end bare metal welded tip, for use with yellow metal alloys free of slag. The 24" open end bare metal are for use with aluminum, magnesium and zinc alloys free of slag and 21" and the 25" protected type tips for use with melts that have surface slag that must be penetrated. The 21" protected tip can be inserted into a melt 8" deep and the 25" protected tip can be inserted into a melt 12" deep. An optional thermocouple support can be provided for additional support rigidity to the thermocouple tips.
