P360 Blackbody Radiation Calibration Source
New Blackbody Source Combines Accuracy with Portability The Pyrometer Instrument Co. Inc., Northvale, NJ introduces its new P360 precision blackbody calibration source. The P360 blackbody calibration source uniquely combines portability with wide temperature range, high emissivity and remarkable resolution. The source and the controller are housed in separate modules. This allows the source to be positioned in a location remote from the controller such as in an environmental chamber. Each module is fitted with a carrying handle and can be easily carried from the calibration lab to the manufacturing plant or field research locations. The P360 has a 25mm (1.0") aperture opening and employs uniformly heated spherical shaped cavity that achieves a near ideal emissivity value of 0.999 ±0.0005. The P360’s digital PID controller can display any temperature between 50°C - 1100°C (120°F – 2000°F) accurately to ±2% of reading ±1°C. (Accuracy calibration performed radiometrically, the uncertainty of emissivity and transfer standards are included.) The P360’s accuracy is traceable to the National Institute of Standards (NIST). A certificate of calibration is supplied with the unit. The P360 requires only a 40-minute warm up time from room temperature to 700°C and can be operated at ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C – 44°C (32°F – 110°F). Applications include calibration of IR temperature sensors, heat flux meters, thermal imaging systems and spectrographic analyzers.
