P330 Blackbody Radiation Calibration Source
Blackbody Calibration Source Design Achieves An Emissivity of 0.99 or Better The Pyrometer Instrument Co. Inc., Northvale, NJ introduces its new P330 precision blackbody calibration source. The P330 has a 25mm (1.0") aperture opening and employs a uniformly heated cone shaped cavity that achieves a near ideal emissivity values of 0.99 or better over its entire temperature range The P330 will provide any temperature between 300°C—1700°C (572°F—3100°F) accurately to ±0.25% of reading ±1°C. (Accuracy calibration performed radiometrically, the uncertainty of emissivity and transfer standards are already included.) The P330’s accuracy is traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). A certificate of calibration is supplied with the unit. The P330 utilizes a microprocessor based, self-tuning digital PID controller to display and hold the operator selected temperature to within 1°C at 1600°C. An independent over temperature alarm and cutout system prevents heating element burnout. Optional RS422/485 serial communications port is available to allow the current displayed temperature to be output to an external PC controller. The P330 requires only 2 hours warm-up from room temperature to 1600°C and can be operated at ambient temperature ranging from 0°C—44°C (32°F—110°F). The P330 is fan cooled with the air inlet on the back of the unit’s enclosure. Optional accessories include a water-cooled aperture wheel assembly to reduce the size of the aperture opening and a universal-mounting flange. Applications include calibration of infrared thermometers, heat flux meters, radiometers, thermal imaging systems and spectrographic analyzers.
