Pyrofiber® IR Sensor Head Measures Miniature Targets
Single Axis Design Allows IR Temperature and Emissivity Measurements of Target to 1mm The Pyrometer Instrument Co. Inc., Northvale, NJ introduces its Pyrofiber® Single Axis Fiber Optic Sensor Head for measuring precise IR temperature and emissivity values of miniature targets. Target sizes to 1mm (0.039") can be measured accurately with this single axes sensor head design. The sensor head is part of the Pyrofiber® Lab, Automatic Emissivity Correcting IR Temperature Measurement System. The Pyrofiber® utilizes a patented pulse laser technology to measure infrared radiance while simultaneously measures and corrects for unknown emissivity values. (Emissivity is a radiant value that must be established to accurately determine infrared true temperature.) The Pyrofiber® Temperature Measurement System is available in several models to accommodate temperature ranges between 250°C to 3000°C (482°F to 5432°F). This sensor head incorporates a unique design allowing the energy for both the radiance and the emissivity correcting laser return signal to travel on the same axis. As a result, the sensor head’s "depth of view" or fixed focus position is not as critical, allowing the user additional compliance when setting up the sensor head not available with other designs. The sensor head’s rugged stainless steel construction can withstand ambient temperatures to 250°C (482°F). Detailed information reference the Pyrofiber® Lab, Automatic Emissivity Correcting IR Temperature Measurement System.
