Pyrometer Instrument Co Inc., Northvale, NJ The Pyro Optical pyrometer temperature sensor provides extremely accurate non contact high temperature measurement from 1400°F-5200°F, (760°C-3200°C). The Pyro Optical radiation pyrometer operates by allowing the operator to compare the intensity of light radiated from a target at visible .655um wavelength to the known brightness of an internal calibrated lamp. This is achieved by utilizing a rotating optical wedge that functions as a variable neutral density filter. The Pyro Optical pyrometer can achieve high temperature measurement accuracy to ± ½% of the temperature being observed. Target sizes from 0.055" at distances of 3 to infinity can be achieved. Supplementary magnification lenses for smaller targets at shorter distances are available. The Pyro Optical pyrometer features a circular direct reading scale on the instrument. Scales can be provided in °F, °C or both. The Pyro Optical pyrometer units are constructed in a steel housing providing years of rugged trouble free industrial plant use. Several models are available. The Pyro Optical is a portable unit comes complete with rechargeable NI CAD battery and carrying case. Industrial applications include: metal heat treating, annealing, stress relieving, tempering, extruding, galvanizing, forging and foundry processes, ceramics, silicon carbide, sintering, R&D, laboratory and quality control.
