The CellaCast PX 81 was specially developed for measuring the temperature of liquid metals in the casting channels of blast furnaces and cupola furnaces. Furthermore, the pyrometer is used when transferring the metal from the melting or holding furnace into the transport ladle or casting ladle. The two-colour pyrometer is equipped with a separate optical measuring head and a fibre optic cable. The fibre optic cable and measuring head are insensitive to interference from electromagnetic radiation and can be used in ambient temperatures up to 250 °C without cooling. The variant with separate optical measuring head has advantages especially in confined spaces.

Emissivity calculator

The correct emissivity to be set on the pyrometer is calculated from the measured value displayed on the pyrometer, the true object temperature, the emissivity preset on the pyrometer and the ambient temperature (necessary for some types).
From the true object temperature, the emissivity of the measurement object, the emissivity set on the pyrometer and the ambient temperature (required for types), the measured value calculated by the pyrometer is displayed.
