Article description

The CellaTemp® PK 68 is a digital two-colour pyrometer for measuring temperatures from 550 to 1,400 °C. Due to the two-colour measuring method, this device reacts less sensitively to interferences from dust and vapour in the field of view, dirty protective windows or changing measuring surfaces than a single-colour pyrometer. The new generation of the CellaTemp® PK pyrometer series is equipped with a smart function, the vitality indicator.
This is a self-monitoring, analysis and reporting technology (SMART), i.e. a function for self-monitoring, analysis and status reporting. The vitality monitor continuously records all relevant operating data. As part of preventive maintenance, this enables the pyrometer to autonomously signal the optimum time for a service check and calibration, depending on the operating conditions.

The correct emissivity to be set on the pyrometer is calculated from the measured value displayed on the pyrometer, the true object temperature, the emissivity preset at the pyrometer and the ambient temperature (required for some instrument types).
