Vitality indicator for pyrometers
Smart self-monitoring for maximum operational reliability
Electronic components in industrial measuring devices are subject to natural aging effects due to physical and chemical processes. Their influence over time depends heavily on the operating temperature and temperature fluctuations. Under harsh industrial conditions with high and fluctuating temperatures, this can impair the measuring accuracy and long-term stability of precision devices.
To minimize this risk, KELLER ITS has equipped the new generation of the CellaTemp® PK series with a smart innovation: the vitality indicator.

The vitality indicator permanently displays the aging status of the pyrometer.
Inspired by SMART technology
This function is reminiscent of the well-known SMART technology (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) used in hard disks. Sensors and firmware continuously monitor operating parameters in order to detect wear or defects at an early stage and warn of a possible failure.
This self-monitoring technology is also integrated into the new CellaTemp® PK pyrometers. The vitality indicator continuously collects relevant operating data and analyzes the device status depending on temperature and operating time. The current status can be read directly on the pyrometer at any time or evaluated from the system control via the digital IO-Link interface. The pyrometer independently signals the optimal time for inspection or calibration – between 2 and 25 years, depending on the operating conditions.
