Torpedo car

The casting of a torpedo car can be monitored using the CellaCast pyrometer.

The temperature measurement of the pig iron during casting from the torpedo car is used for optimization in the context of pig iron processing between blast furnace and converter. The pig iron must have a certain temperature (typically 1,350–1,500 °C) in order to be easy to process. The CellaCast PA 83 measuring system was specially developed for measuring the temperature of liquid metals during the transfer of the melt.
